Desislavia Kamenova

Desislava Kamenova, is lawyer at Sofia Bar Association  with 16 years of practice in litigation and company law and volunteering mediator at the Agreement and Mediation Centre, Sofia since 2012. The centre was established in 2010 and has been functioning at the District Court of Sofia and the Sofia City Court, Bulgaria. Currently finishing her PhD study, Ms. Kamenova is writing a thesis on ”Nonverbal communication in court procedures and alternative dispute resolution” at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Department of Rhetoric. She is interested in alternative dispute resolution, focused on mediation, the proportion of verbal and nonverbal communication in the mediation procedure and improving the communication quality between conflicting parties. She is focused on exploring how nonverbal communication affects the quality of the procedure of mediation and how the mediator could use body language in practice. She is working on developing a course in Nonverbal Communication in Mediation.
