Description of Practice

I provide the client and attorney with data that show the financial effect of any given proposed divorce settlement. I interview clients in order to collect verifiable financial data, help develop a workable budget, and determine the costs of their children's education.

Professional Background

My professional background includes that of divorce mediator, divorce financial planner, and certified divorce financial analyst, and educator (http://www.mackfinancialeducator.com/about.html).

Experience

I participated in hundreds of conflict resolution conferences that included disputes among the school personnel and parents, among family members about the education of their children, and between divorcing spouses.

Degrees

My degrees include: the Ph.D. and B.A.,the University of Illinois at Chicago; M.Ed.,Loyola University; M.P.A., Roosevelt University. My academic certificates include the Certificate of Advanced Study, the University of Chicago and Reading Supervision, the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Training

Dates    Trainer(s)    Title
May 2013    Financial Divorce Association    Certified Real Estate Divorce Specialist
March 2014    Financial Divorce Association    Certified Financial Divorce Specialist
May 2014    Margaret S. Powers, Erika Gray    Basic Divorce Mediation, Northwestern University, SPS, 40 hours
March 2017    Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts    Certified Divorce Financial Analyst

Approach

Mediation addresses many fears; I focus on helping couples to reach equitable agreements. My approach reduces many fears because it is transparent, less costly, and less time-consuming than litigation. I focus on the impact made on children.

Fees

Clients referred by attorneys, psychologists, family therapists, etc. : $ 250 per each hour, to be allocated between the parties. The mediation sessions are recommended for parties who prefer a third-party neutral, a cost-effective, and a confidential resolution rather than expensive, uncertain, and public litigation.
