Description of Practice
I have been Mediating for over 20 years am one of the few Accredited Mediators with the NYCDM. I handle both Divorce and Guardianship Mediations online or in-person. My unique background, with a degree in Psychology and Law, enables me to helps the parties resolve their issues and avoid the horrors of going to Court. Mediation is perfect for peacefully resolving all types of Divorces, Separations, Family or a Guardianship issues.
Divorce: No matter how complex, how much money is involved, or how angry the spouses, for over twenty years, I have been helping couples focus on his/her individual needs and interests moving forward, into the future. I also handle pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and post divorce issues.
Elder Care/Guardianship Mediations: I am one of the very few Guardianship/Elder Care Mediators helping siblings who are at odds regarding the care of their elderly parents resolve their issues peacefully, rather than through litigation.
I have been on radio shows and lectured on Mediation at the Nassau County
With my help, the parties totally avoid ever stepping inside a court room and save enormous amounts of time, money and emotional energy. Mediation avoids the caustic, highly charged and emotional adversarial route that a litigated divorce or guardianship case would inherently produce.

Approach
I believe that almost all disputes can be resolved amicably, without the need of court intervention. I firmly believe that the court system actually inflames the conflict. In mediation, I assist the parties to learn what their needs are and then to relay this to the other individual. They will also be able to listen and learn about what the other individual's needs and interests are, even if they do not agree. In this way, the parties can create an agreement that is to their mutual satisfaction.
In Arbitration, the parties get a chance to make their case, and instead of it being a protracted, costly and heated litigation, as the arbitrator, I will issue a decision and put this conflict to bed.
