Description of Practice

Experienced family law mediator with over 100 hours of formal training in the areas of divorce, elder care, arbitration, domestic violence, Texas specific practice along with an additional 15 hours per year of professional continuing mediation education training. My expertise includes facilitating neutral and non-biased negotiations in legal disputes while fostering positive communication between the parties involved, allowing them to maintain family/business relationships long after the mediation process is completed. My background also includes experience in corporate management, corporate training, employee relations, and human resources.

Degrees

Boston University MS - Criminal Justice; Western Connecticut Sate University BS - Justice and Law Administration; Scottsdale Community College AA - Administration of Justice

Approach

My approach to dispute resolution is the practice of client centered mediation that fosters an open and honest communication that is both confidential and client empowered. In this dispute resolution model, clients are direct participants in creating their own settlement agreement and the confidentiality of the process protects each participant, in the event of an impasse, against having any statements, documents, and/or discussions used against them in a litigated process. The informality of a client centered approach also removes traditional litigation practices that often requires a significant increase in time and money. Client centered mediation is an alternative dispute resolution approach that is easier for clients to use and results in a far less emotional cost for all parties involved. Agreements made in mediation have a much better chance of success when the participants are at the center of the process and empowered to make decisions that impact them long after the mediation process has ended.
