Description of Practice

I have been an mediator since 1993 and a Collaborative Professional since 2002. I help families transition out of marriages and partnerships using respectful, future focused, problem solving models of dispute resolution which allow them to be prepared for the future emotionally, financially and legally.

Professional Background

For over 31 years Sandra has dedicated her law and mediation practices to educating and leading clients to the clearest path to resolution of their unique legal issues.

Sandra helps families and partnership move out of conflict using the most appropriate dispute resolution model, be that: Collaborative Practice, mediation or limited scope representation. As legal disputes and status adjustments (like dissolutions of marriages, separation of parents or partnerships) can be costly in terms of money, time lost, and emotional turmoil, it is critical for people facing such life changing events to be educated about and understand clearly their dispute resolution process options and the various pathways to resolution before proceeding.

Sandra is a past President of Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois. She teaches the 40-hour Divorce Mediation Course at Northwestern University and writes frequently on the topics of mediation and conflict resolution. Sandra has been nominated by her peers for many years as an Illinois “Super Lawyer” and in 2018 she received the “Leading Lawyer” designation. She is a past Chair of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Council and a past Chair of the its Delivery of Legal Services Committee. Sandra sits on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Bar Foundation and on the Advisory Board of the Schiller, DuCanto and Fleck Family Law Center at DePaul University Law School, Chicago.
