Description of Practice

Providing confidential facilitated negotiations to resolve disputes in Employment, Civil, and Commercial Law.

Professional Background

Emily Johnson has over 20 years of experience in Advocacy, Mediation, and Negotiations. She graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2003 and worked for several years in family, criminal, probate, and elder law. She earned a real estate license in 2005 and spent 15 years facilitating real estate transactions, and becoming a self-employed property investor. Her vast experience in law and real estate provided many years of practice in negotiating and mediating complex situations, a niche legal service for which she developed a deep appreciation.

Emily decided to turn her passion for mediation into a full-time career by starting Johnson Mediation LLC. Emily is committed to supporting the growth of Alternative Dispute Resolution and is fully dedicated to impartiality as a neutral third-party. She believes in the power of a self-determined approach to settlement and strives to avoid inefficient and lengthy court processes.

She studied Professional Mediation at Quinnipiac University, School of Law and went on to study Employment Law Mediation at Cornell University, Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution. She recently completed her Divorce Mediation Certification at Northwestern University.

Emily is a member of the Cornell University Panel of Neutrals. She is also a mediator for the New York City Civil Courts, where she mediates landlord/tenant, breach of contract, personal injury, commercial, small claims, and neighborhood matters.
