Description of Practice

As a practicing attorney for over 15 years in a wide variety of areas, including employment, human resources, business, insurance, and education law, I developed a passion for working with families as a pro bono attorney for abused, deprived and neglected children. As a mediator, I now specialize in working with families and couples in divorce mediation, parenting plans, custody arrangements and marriage mediation, in which couples mediate to stay married.

Professional Background

I was a business litigation attorney at the law firm of Crowe & Dunlevy in Oklahoma City, OK. In addition, I served as Legal Counsel for the University of Oklahoma and the Director of Continuing Legal Education for the Oklahoma Bar Association. In 1996, I was a founding member of Oklahoma Lawyers for Children, providing representation to abused, deprived and neglected children in cooperation with the local public defenders. I served on the Board of Directors and as an active lawyer volunteer from 1996 to 2011.

Experience

I have over 17 years experience analyzing, negotiating, settling and drafting agreements in a wide variety of business, employment and family law matters.

Degrees

In 1996, I received a Juris Doctorate With Honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Minor in French also from the University of Oklahoma. I completed my certification as a mediator through ADR Services International, Inc.

Approach

My approach is one of compassion. I truly believe that the tremendous expense, financial and emotional, of litigation or even an unresolved agreement can act as a barrier to healthy, peaceful daily life. I am an energetic yet endlessly patient cheerleader and encourager throughout the course of mediating and settling disputes.

Fees

Standard mediation fees are $60 per hour per party with a two-hour scheduling minimum. In cases where one or all parties demonstrate financial need, a sliding scale fee structure is available.
