Description of Practice

Christy L. Foley, Esq. has been mediating since 2009, having originally mediated in New York City before relocating to Central Florida.

Ms. Foley is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a circuit civil mediator and a county court mediator. In 2018, she founded E-Mediation Services, a mediation firm that performs mediations through video conferencing.

In addition to mediating online, Ms. Foley mediates in person, serving as a mediator for CPLS, PA in Orlando and the Jax Mediation Center in Jacksonville.

Ms. Foley is licensed to practice law in both New York and Florida. She also manages an entertainment and small business law firm in Central Florida called The Law Office of Christy L. Foley. That practice focuses on intellectual property, business, and contract law.

Ms. Foley was appointed by the Florida Supreme Court to the Mediator Ethics Advisory Committee (“MEAC”) in 2016. Since 2018, she has served as Chairwoman of MEAC.

She also serves on the Executive Council of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Florida Bar. Most notably, she is the Section's Secretary and the Membership Committee Chairwoman.

Plus, she has given presentations on mediation ethics and techniques throughout Florida, including multiple presentations at Florida’s Annual Dispute Resolution Conference (“DRC”), and has hosted multiple nationwide webinars on e-mediation. In total, Ms. Foley has presented more than 20 seminars on mediation ethics and e-mediation since 2017.

Moreover, Ms. Foley is a Florida Supreme Court trained arbitrator.

Fees

To encourage social distancing during the COVID-19 outbreak, Ms. Foley has reduced her rates for e-mediations. She is charging $200 per hour.

For in-person mediations, her rate is $300 per hour.

Minimum Fees:

If a half day is reserved in advance, the minimum fee is equal to two (2) hours billed, unless it is canceled with at least 48 hours prior notice.

If an entire day is reserved in advance, the minimum fee is equal to four (4) hours billed, unless it is canceled with at least 48 hours prior notice.
