Description of Practice

When Carie Fox started her mediation practice in 1997, she brought together a background in science and law, broad experience in workplace mediation and an aptitude for helping her mediation participants squeeze the best out of almost any conflict. It is up to you and your conflict partner to determine what type of ‘best’ you are looking for. This could mean a practical nuts-and-bolts resolution and no backward looks; it could involve a resolution plus an improved base for evolving communications or it could mean deep transformation.

It is up to Carie to design a safe, creative space that supports you in resolving issues at the level you choose. Carie’s gift in holding that conflict-resolution space lies, first, in her deep respect for your own wisdom about what you need. You and your conflict partner are the inspiration. Second, she has a wide repertoire of skills that inform her designs—one mediation might do well with the very intellectual multi-criteria decision analysis, another one might get a break-through from an improv exercise. Carie has dozens of possible approaches to draw on, ranging from decision psychology to somatic techniques. And finally, Carie has almost thirty years of experience helping people resolve their conflicts. Whether you need to address this conflict at the head, heart, or gut level, Carie is able to adapt the mediation to meet your needs.
