Description of Practice

I am mediate family law matters, including on property and child-related issues. I serve as a facilitator, property mediator, and custody mediator for the Family Law Division of the Montgomery County Circuit Court. I also serve as a Parent Coordinator in court-appointed and private cases.

Professional Background

I am an attorney by profession and a problem solver by nature. I served for 15 years in the US Army Judge Advocate General Corps in a variety of roles. When I retired from the Army I began practicing family law in Montgomery County, Maryland. I have always believed that an agreement between the parties of a dispute is better than a solution imposed upon them by a third party. I serve as a mediator and facilitator for the Montgomery County Circuit Court and I do private family law mediation as well. I trained as a Collaborative Attorney in 2004 and I am now a trainer for the Collaborative Practice Training Institute and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland. I restrict my litigation to being a Best Interest Attorney and to disputes over military pensions. I serve as a Parent Coordinator helping parents in high conflict cases to resolve issues without having to resort to court.
