Description of Practice
Professional Background
During his Federal career he began his conflict resolution experience as a part time volunteer mediator at the Center for Community Justice in Washington, DC, where he mediated a variety of interpersonal disputes such as landlord-tenant, parent-child and employee-manager for a period of five years.
Following his retirement from the Federal Government, Mr. Williams investigated Federal EEO complaints covering a broad range of issues from race, gender and age to sexual harassment. He later founded Williams & Associates, a firm specializing in human resources management consulting and training that was certified an 8(a) Small Business Minority Enterprise by the US Small Business Administration.
When Federal agencies were required by law to offer alternative dispute resolution as a means of resolving employee-management disputes, Mr. Williams added mediation as a service his firm offered. As a result, he has served on the aforementioned EEOC and US Postal Service panels.
Experience
