This Mediator is Certified
Winning CM Strategies, LLC provides mediation services for the interdisciplinary teams and processes related to the Design and Construction of complex programs and project deliveries. WCMS focuses on early preventive techniques, mitigation, negotiations, and settlements all focused on fostering the maintenance of future relationships. The goal is the management and communication of exposure and risk of all parties.

Professional Background

Janie Winning spent her first 12 years working for defense contractors for the US Air Force, successfully facilitating collaborative thought through process improvement programs to help save Air Logistic Commands from closure.

Ms. Winning pivoted to the Construction Industry in 2002, adapting her skillset on construction builds on Turner Construction Northern California Builds; such as, Sacramento Airport Terminal B, SMUD Net Zero Campus, Bay Area Tech Company Builds, Levi's Stadium, 222 Mission and Golden 1 Center to name a few.

Ms. Winning has spent the last 5 years on the $2B CDCR Construction Program. She has worked successfully with CDCR to identify risk and facilitate productive conversations while applying creative, out-of-the-box solutions and early claims prevention techniques. She guides projects with significant issues toward alignment and away from disputes and claims. This focus and approach has kept CDCR from spending significant amounts of tax payer's money paying for the defense of claims.

Ms. Winning was formally trained in Negotiations & Alternative Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, School of Law Straus Institute.

She provides key expertise in collaborative planning, time impact analysis, claims avoidance and mitigation strategies. Her expertise is unmatched in the ability to map processes for projects and facilitate conversations among project teams with the goal of managing and communicating exposure and risk. The work navigates interdisciplinary teams from design management through construction.
