Description of Practice

Ellie Vilendrer has extensive experience in corporate, intellectual property, and data privacy matters. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and is co-author of the privacy law chapter in the Representing the Ongoing Business Deskbook, 3rd Edition (2019, Minnestoa CLE).

Ms. Vilendrer is Co-Chair of the Early Dispute Resolution Committee of the American Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Section. She is a Qualified Neutral, Rule 114 Minnesota General Rules of Practice, and serves as a neutral on several panels. She has spent hundreds of hours studying and training in the field of negotiations and mediation, including executive training at Harvard. Demonstrating she can put theory to practice, Ms. Vilendrer achieved the best outcome in a scored negotiation among 60 professional negotiators from around the world in 2015.

Her family's award-winning short film promoting peace, Nurturing the Seeds of Peace, was broadcasted at the United Nations in New York on November 6, 2019, and was also an Official Selection featured at the International Peace & Film Festival in January 2020. Her family's short film on human rights, Justice for All, was broadcasted at the United Nations on December 15, 2020, in celebration of the UN's 75th anniversary.

Ellie Vilendrer is a Qualified Neutral, Rule 114 Minnesota General Rules of Practice. She is a member of the Dispute Resolution sections of the American Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association. She is also a member of the ABA International Law section and ArbitralWomen.


Since entering the legal field in 2004, Ellie Vilendrer has focused on outcome optimization. She believes the end goal for disputants shouldn't just be to resolve their dispute, but to make decisions that lead to optimal outcomes. She helps parties think creatively, to expand the pie so every party can maximize settlement value.

Ms. Vilendrer uses a hybrid evaluative/facilitative model to mediate. She is committed to providing parties with a valuable mediation experience in which participants can communicate their view points in a safe and respectful environment. She understands the nuances and complexities which underpin disputes and has a genuine desire to help parties not only reach a lasting agreement, but also improve relationships.


$1800 for 2 parties ($900 each) for up to 4 hours of mediation. Preparation time is included in the fee. $400/hour (shared by the parties) after that.
