Description of Practice
I offer mediation services for families, teens, elders, businesses, and community members. My background spans across a wide range of grassroots experience, all of which has laid a foundation of solid and open-minded professionalism in the field of alternative dispute resolution. My style is forthright and sincere; I create a balance between forward movement and equanimity. Of utmost importance to me is respectful listening, positive intent, and helpful communication, qualities I personally practice and encourage in my clients.
I have successfully mediated numerous difficult situations; successfully means that I have entered into profoundly challenging disputes and afforded the parties a chance to be heard, validated, and negotiated with. I do not push for results but rather assist parties in making their way to their own individual, mutually-agreeable resolution.
This work is incredibly inspiring, and yet, so few seem to know about or fully understand the scope of mediation. I truly aspire to lend a hand to the momentum guiding alternative dispute resolution through my continued dedication to mediation, my award-winning writing, my volunteer efforts in local dispute centers, and my commitment to continued training/education.
I have received over 100 hrs of mediation training and have led workshops for the Oregon Mediation Association's annual conference. In addition to mediation, I have worked with children and their families for many years, as a an award-winning children's book author, a K-8 private school teacher, and a co-counselor in a bereavement program for adults and kids. I have a BA from the University of NH, and have had over ten years of intensive study and training in Tibetan meditation. I've been teaching meditation since 2012, and have fostered a profoundly neutral and understanding life-view. All of my professional background has afforded me the ability to face conflicts without fear with an enthusiasm for creative problem solving.

My approach to dispute resolution lies in my strong belief that no one is wholly right or wrong. I believe that there is validity to each person's perspective, primarily because their view stems from an experience of the conflict unique to them. I do not presume to know what any of my clients have experienced. Approaching mediation from that understanding allows my clients to feel heard and respected, and ready to move forward with willingness to resolving their issues outside of court.
$89.00 per hour, including case development and administrative hours

I speak, understand, and am capable of writing up agreements in Spanish. My proficiency is intermediate.
