Description of Practice
My passion is facilitating interest-based discussions that lead to the best possible resolution. I take the time to examine and understand the positions and interests of everyone involved and work to find areas of possible agreement. I am conscious of your interest in reaching an agreement that addresses the situation that brings you to the mediation table as well as future situations that may arise. My legal training allows me to draft durable agreements that reflect your intentions. I understand that people come to mediation because they want an efficient resolution to their issues. I work efficiently, without sacrificing attention to detail.
I have been mediating professionally since 2014, starting at the Marion County Circuit Court, and currently in private practice. I have mediated hundreds of cases.
My practical experience comes from court connected mediation, my own private law and mediation practice, and from volunteering to do community mediation in conjunction with Neighbor2Neighbor, a community mediation nonprofit based in Salem, Oregon.
Juris Doctor, Certificate in Dispute Resolution and Mediation Qualification, Willamette University College of Law; Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
|2012||Professor Sukhsimranjit Singh, Willamette University Certificate In Dispute Resolution Program||Basic Mediation Training, 40 hours|
|2015||Neighbor2Neighbor||Court Connected Mediator Training, 8 hours|
|2017||Lauren Mac Neill, Clackamas County Dispute Resolution Center||Domestic Relations Custody and Parenting Time Training, 40 hours|

I take an eclectic approach to mediation, meaning that I choose the appropriate technique to fit each situation. I regularly employ a variety of tried and true mediation techniques, ranging from evaluative (evaluating each party’s position and suggesting settlement options) to transformative (focusing on helping parties recognize the other’s needs and interests, therefore transforming their relationship to go beyond conflict) to facilitative (focusing on the exploration of needs and interests to the parties in coming to a resolution).
Because my work is specialized, my fees are based on each individual case's complexity. I focus on giving you a cost effective mediation experience.
