Description of Practice
With almost 20 years of legal and mediation experience in the New Hampshire Seacoast Area, including Dover, Rochester, Exeter, and Portsmouth, I have litigated, negotiated, and mediated hundreds of civil and criminal cases. My work has spanned New Hampshire’s District, Juvenile, Family, Superior, and Supreme courts and includes dozens of jury trials and bench trials, including high-stakes, complex felony jury trials.
I have held several positions in the NH Judicial Branch and with Strafford County, and have worked as a national justice systems consultant and facilitator. My experience has given me varied perspectives of dispute resolution and has provided me with deep ties to the local Seacoast legal community and justice system. My long history of working within and representing clients through the justice system has led me to the conclusion that it is not the best forum within which to achieve many client goals. Fortunately, there are alternatives to conventional dispute resolution (or “litigation”) through the judicial system. I have dedicated the second half of my career to learning about and seeking training in the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) techniques of Mediation and Collaborative Law.
