Professional Background

With over 20 years of legal experience in civil litigation, consumer and business bankruptcy, David mediates and arbitrates all types of matters, including business, bankruptcy, civil, commercial, employment, insurance, personal injury, and family law. Prior to joining Mann Law Firm PLLC, David was the senior bankruptcy associate at Mann & Stevens, P.C. Before joining Mann & Stevens, David served as the staff attorney for a Chapter 13 trustee after having spent several years managing a large consumer debtor firm with offices in San Antonio and Corpus Christi, Texas where he assisted hundreds of consumer debtors and small businesses in obtaining bankruptcy relief. Prior to entering the private sector, David was an Assistant Attorney General in the Child Support Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Texas, handling a unique caseload consisting of interstate and international child support enforcement matters and representation of the agency in bankruptcy matters.

With over 100 hours of training in mediation and arbitration, David routinely serves as a mediator and helps guide disputing parties through their conflicts so that they may settle their claims or lawsuits. Prior to becoming a mediator, David represented parties in the courtroom and at mediation, so he understands the viewpoint from all four corners of the mediation table. He is a staunch advocate of the negotiation process, and commits his time to training and mentoring new mediators, and regularly volunteers his time as a mediator and trainer with the Dispute Resolution Center for Harris County.

Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from the Texas Tech University School of Law. Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Associate of Arts degree in history from San Antonio College.
