Description of Practice

In mediating family law cases, Gwen is skilled in working with couples – within a non-adversarial environment– to reach a full, fair, and comprehensive agreement on all issues.

Mediation can be done before any paperwork is filed with the Court or while the divorce process is pending. Mediation can save time and money. Unlike litigation, mediation completion is not determined or delayed by the scheduling constraints of the court system. Successful mediation means that you can avoid pre-trial conferences, judicial status conferences, court hearings and trial.

Mediation focuses on the best interests of the family as a whole. It is a cost-effective and private way for families to reach resolution without destroying relationships and without the expense and uncertainty of going to court. Most family matters do not need to be resolved through contested litigation, which can drain a family's emotional and financial resources. Gwen focuses her practice on helping clients come up with creative and meaningful solutions that are in the best interests of their family

Other Information

Gwen is an experienced mediator and Family Law attorney. She concentrates her practice in the area of divorce, child custody, parenting time, adoption, child support, spousal support, mediation and collaborative law.

Gwen prioritizes being accessible to her clients and providing straight forward, practical advice to meet each client's unique circumstances. She chooses to practice in the area of family law because of her desire to help people in a difficult period of their life. She knows that going through a divorce is a very emotional and trying time. Her goal is to guide her clients through the divorce process as efficiently and painlessly as possible, while protecting the children from the turmoil of divorce. To that end, she has been trained in the use of mediation and collaborative law. She has served as a court appointed child's attorney and has received extensive training in minimizing the impact of divorce on children.

Gwen was a former Deputy District Attorney in charge of the dependency and child support units in Lincoln County, Oregon. In that capacity, Gwen has worked with children and families in crisis and has a solid understanding of how child support is calculated, possible rebuttals to include in the calculation, and child support modifications.
