Description of Practice
Rachel has dedicated her career to helping families and children through the legal process. She is a skilled and effective mediator and provides mediation services for a variety of domestic disputes, including: divorce, custody, child support, parental responsibilities, grandparent visitation, post-decree matters and other family law disputes. She understands that her involvement in your life is temporary, but that your relationship with the other party will likely continue for many years. Rachel is warm, compassionate and focuses on effectively resolving disputes while preserving relationships between the parties.
Rachel graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2000 and started out her legal career at the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis in Minnesota. She moved to Colorado in 2003, where she worked for Denver CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates of Abused and Neglected Children). In 2005, Rachel took some time to be with her young children while starting a family focused business. She returned to practicing law and conducting mediations in 2011 with her focus remaining on working with families and children.
Rachel is a skilled and competent mediator. She uses a facilitative and collaborative approach in mediations. Rachel mediated as a volunteer mediator in 1998 for Ramsey County Court in St. Paul, Minnesota. In an effort to refresh her skills, she completed training through Phoenix Strategies in March 2011 and started to mediate disputes here in Colorado. Rachel has volunteered as a mediator for Jefferson County Mediation Services since May 2011 and serves an advisory Board Member for Jefferson County Mediation Services. Jefferson County Mediation Services awarded Rachel received the Divorce & Parenting Mediator of the Year for 2012. Rachel has mediated many family law disputes since 2011 and she continues to serve as a private and volunteer mediator for all domestic related disputes.
