Description of Practice

Russell D. Cook has acted as a Judge Pro Tem for the Fresno County Superior Court, conducting settlement conferences for the past 25 years. During that time, he has conducted well over 150 such settlement conferences. Additionally, Russell D. Cook has conducted over 500 private mediations. The cases that have been mediated are divergent. They include many complex business cases, wage and hour, personal injury, real estate disputes, insurance coverage disputes.

Russell is currently on the panel of mediators through the Superior Court in Fresno, Tulare and Merced Counties.

Professional Background

33 years as a litigator in all aspects of civil litigation, with over 100 trials.

Admissions:

All California Courts, the United States District Court for the Northern, Eastern and Central Districts of California. He is also admitted in the United States 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Bachelor of Science summa cum laude from California State University Fresno in 1976 in Construction.
Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law in 1980.

Additionally, Russell D. Cook has had extensive training in mediation as well as alternate dispute resolution, including attending the Strauss Institute at Pepperdine University annual Summer Professional Skills Program for many years.

$300.00 per hour with a minimum of 4 hours for a one half day mediation. For full day mediations, the minimum is 8 hours.
