Description of Practice
Mr. Sankary has extensive mediation experience in over 1000 litigated cases since 1996. He is a recognized expert in Probate, Business, Commercial, Employment, and personal injury cases. Mr. Sankary is in an expert in social science of persuasion as applied to negotiations and mediations.
Professional Background
Advanced Mediation Certificates; Received Advance Certificate from Robert Cialdini, Professor of Psychology and Social Science at Arizona State authorizing Mr. Sankary to present Cialdini's Principles of Persuasion Workshop, based on his research in the social science of influence. I am a past president of the Southern California Mediation Association. I have served on the board of trustees of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association for 6 years. I am one of the founders and president of The Valley Bar Mediation Center, a non-profit mediation center sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Bar association which serves communities that cannot afford the high cost of litigation. Mediated over 1000 cases since 1996 in variety of specialized areas, including Business, Commercial, Probate and Trusts, personal injury, employment and real estate. Also experienced in conflict management systems for business and non-profit organizations. Mr. Sankary has served as counsel in many business acquisitions.

Graduated Harvard Law School, 1965, TCU 1962, BA Philosophy, summa cum laude; Pepperdine Law School. Received numerous certificates of completion of advanced programs on mediation at Straus Institute Pepperdine Law School and other training facilities. Completed training to present Principles of Persuasion workshops certified by noted sociologist, Professor Robert Cialdini since 2006.

Approach
Based upon extensive training and experience, Mr. Sankary employs an "integrative" approach to dispute resolution, applying legal analysis, negotiating strategies, and collaboration, as well as evaluative and facilitative techniques when appropriate. I also apply the principles underlying the social science of persuasion to focus on the personal and emotional aspects of resolving conflict. Mr. Sankary is an expert in the cognitive science of bias and is noted for his MCLE lectures on Elimination of Bias in the Legal System which he gives to law firms and bar association. Knowledge of the science of persuasion and bias is invaluable for mediating high conflict disputes.
Fees
Appropriate to situation, usually based on $400 to $500 per hour. Administrative fees determined by ADR Services.
Other Information
Since 2003, Mr. Sankary has been a lecturer on Negotiation in the Mediation Process at the USC Marshall School of Business MBA program. Mr. Sankary also presents workshops on the Principles of Persuasion. He has developed successful approaches to managing conflict within organizations as well as mediation of litigated disputes.
