Description of Practice

Harvard Law School-educated mediator and settlement judge at the EEOC, described by the managing judge as "my 'go-to' person for the most complex cases in the docket," with a 91% personal settlement rate in a program with an average 55-58% settlement rate. Mediation practice primarily in harassment, sexual harassment, and discrimination claims under Title VII, ADEA, ADA, GINA, USERRA, FMLA. Performed workplace climate surveys. Investigated/mediated approximately 1,000 cases in federal employee EEO/ADR system; mediated and litigated in private practice representing individuals and large corporate clients. Appellate clerk (twice). Appointed by PA legislature to the Joint Advisory Committee to the Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution to produce a report and recommend legislation on mediation in PA. Experience in litigation, counseling, and mediating at large law firms and in my own practice, primarily in labor/EEO discrimination and harassment claims. Clerked for the PA Superior Court of Appeals. Appointed to the PA Joint Advisory Committee to the Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution Admitted to practice before PA Supreme Court, EDPA and Third Circuit. Prior to that mediated and settled numerous cases in private practice for corporations and individuals, primarily in labor and employment law, in administrative agencies and courts.
