Pierre de Ravel brings his experience as a transactional lawyer (retired Senior partner of Dewey & LeBoeuf), businessman (past chair of the Audit Committee of a NYSE-listed company) and professor of law to act as a commercial mediator Pierre has mediated such cases as business divorces, fiduciary litigation, LLC members’ disputes, warranties and representation disputes in M&A agreements (MAE, holdbacks, earn-outs, financial representations) corporate governance, construction disputes (owner/prime contractor, prime contractor/subcontractor, owner/surety, insurance subrogation issues), loan restructurings, oil spill remediation liability, musician-publisher royalty disputes, IP disputes, not-for-profit tax exemptions, tax lien sales, fishing rights, real estate tax assessments, medical malpractice.
After obtaining Baccalaureate in Mathematics in France, Pierre studied at the HEC Business School in Paris and then was trained in civil law and common law (Harvard Law School and U. of Montreal Law School). Pierre has conducted arbitrations and mediations in French and English and is proficient in German. For his services, Pierre was twice decorated by the French Government,
:Order of Merit and Legion of Honor.
Mr. de Ravel is a member of the following panels: FINRA Public Arbitrator and Mediator, WIPO, Special Master Appellate Division First and Second Departments, NYS Supreme Court Commercial Division, US Bankruptcy Court for the SDNY, on, CPR Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, CPR Panel on Banking, Accounting and Financial Services.


Pierre F. de Ravel d’Esclapon has practiced corporate, securities and finance law in New York since 1970. In recent years, Mr. de Ravel has been teaching corporate governance and securities regulations and been active in arbitration and mediation.
Mr. de Ravel was a senior partner of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene and MacRae and Of Counsel to Dewey & LeBoeuf.
