I emphasize mediating disputes involving domestic relations and estate administration. I have been an attorney and a member of the Oregon State Bar Association since 1983. In addition to my law practice, I edited the Family Law Newsletter for the Family Law Section for the OSB for 15 years. I have represented husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, grandparents, minor children, personal representatives, trustees, beneficiaries and claimants against against estates. Since most estate and trust administration matters involve disputes between family members, the vast majority the conflicts I have worked with involve disputes between family members. I have substantial practical experience talking with non lawyers about these issues. None of these disputes over all these years was the same. They were different each in their own way. You have to listen to notice this. I think listening is a strength of mine.

As a litigator I know that results hinge on what is done before the hearing. Preparation is key. I want to go into the mediation knowing as much about the dispute as I can. One of the problems with litigation is we spend so much time discussing the evidence and so little time discussing solutions. I want to be ready to start talking solutions as soon as possible.
I work on a flat fee basis with the flat fee agreed upon in a written fee agreement. At this time the base is $800 flat fee for a mediation session of no more than six hours. The quoted flat fee may vary from that based upon the circumstances.
