Cherie McKenna

Practicing since 1998, I am an experienced solo practitioner specializing in divorce, family law and dispute resolution. As a certified mediator, I take great pride in assisting parties toward compromise. I provide a comfortable, confidential forum to discuss their concerns, helping each party to understand the position of the other. During mediation, I am able to provide creative suggestions for possible compromise that the parties may not have considered, and I encourage the parties to communicate their concerns. As a team, the parties work with me to find a compromise that suits everyone. I also provide comprehensive drafting services, offering a flat fee package for preparation of the separation agreement, financial statements, and joint petition pleadings.

I have been practicing for over 23 years, and began my career as a public defender practicing criminal law. I entered the private sector in 2001, where I began practicing civil litigation at a boutique law firm in Boston. In 2011, I began the pursuit of my own practice, and I have dedicated my practice to family law since then. I am an active member of the Hampden County Bar Association, the Massachusetts Council on family Mediation, and have been appointed to the panel of attorneys for the Children’s Law Project. As a certified mediator, I have successfully mediated dozens of cases and it is the most enjoyable and rewarding facet of my practice.
