With 25 years of experience practicing family law in Massachusetts, Beth is a mediator and collaborative lawyer focusing on alternative dispute resolution. Beth has handled hundreds of divorce, pre-nuptial agreements and other family law issues as counsel and mediator, helping clients work through conflict and find mutually satisfactory solutions. Beth is also settlement-based counsel in court cases, helping clients avoid protracted litigation. She has further presented dozens of appeals before the Massachusetts Appeals Courts, and is counsel of record in several decisions dealing with child custody and domestic abuse. In addition to her private practice, Beth is a member of the Committee for Public Counsel Services Children and Family Law Appeals Panel, handling child welfare appeals.
Most recently before founding Nussbaum Family Law, Beth was a senior attorney with the law firm of Smith Lee Nebenzahl LLP, where she specialized in family law and also represented clients with employment and foreclosure issues.
Beth has had speaking engagements on Motions for Relief from Judgment, CAFL Appellate Trainings 2010, and is a published author: Child Welfare Practice in Massachusetts, MCLE, Investigation and Discovery, Court Investigators and Guardians Ad Litem, Post Judgment Representation, 2012.
Beth is a member of the Academy of Certified Financial Litigators, The Divorce Center, International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council, Massachusetts Council on Family Law Mediation, and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
