Plan Before the Crisis Strikes: The Family Dialogue
Life expectancy continues to increase. Prior to or early in retirement people make a financial plan to meet their future needs. What is often missing is the “non-financial” plan for the later stages of life. Older adults have growing needs for proper health care, assistance with activities of daily living, socialization, and planned recreation. Health and safety issues become prominent. Families are often unable to cope with the required care giving responsibilities. Adult siblings frequently disagree about the best way to care for an elderly parent.
Dr. Grether, a Clinical Psychologist with a sub-specialty in Geriatrics, has indepth knowledge and extensive experience in resolving differences between and amoung family members and in working directly with older adults. He will coordinate and lead The Family Dialogue and use Mediation and Facilitation to achieve agreement.
