How does the subject evolve in a global context?
A wonderful article and ideas which I have tried embracing, but found more challenging in some cultural environments where inherent values appear to be competitiveness at the cost of one's colleagues. Where people lack self-awareness and within indirect cultures, it's not possible to just point out that an individual/or people's competitiveness rather than fostering a positive work environment, creates conflict and stifles productivity. Nor does setting a positive example necessarily foster reciprocity. Where I have tried to be trusting in such a scenario, it has rather been used against me as opposed to the value of trust being understood.
I wonder if you would have any thoughts as how to introduce or foster trust in environments where it doesn't seem to be natural or how to deal with such environments?
