Thank you Robert, your articles always thoughtful, and this one is no different. The two points that stood out for me in this one were being reminded that 'negotiation is not the first choice' retaining the status quo is, and that 'just as in the real world, things need to simmer.' It is easy to forget that problems escalate to point, often like that of a pyramid, and their resolution, or de-escalation, is like coming down the other side, and not a sudden drop to the new equilibrium.
