Jeffrey Vail

Jeffrey Vail is a staff attorney advising the Forest Service on its land management authorities in administering 191 million acres of National Forest System land. Since 1991 he has advised the Forest Service on its responsibility to and relationship with Indian tribes throughout the United States on issues that include treaty rights, land claims, sacred site access and protection, use of forest products for traditional and cultural purposes, and reburial of human remains.
