Barbara W. Sowell is a Licensed Master Social Worker and trained Mediator. She earned a Master degree in Theology (M.T.S.) from Brite Divinty School (TCU) in 1999. Barbara is a trained mediator and social worker with over fifteen years of professional experience. Her rich multidisciplinary background gives her a unique perspective on the emerging field of Faith-based Conflict Resolution.
Barbara worked in the field of Child Protective Services (CPS) for more than twelve years. She was a frequent lecturer and was responsible for the field instruction of graduate students in all aspects of CPS.
She currently specializes in mediating family, divorce, custody, visitation, adoption, special needs, abuse issues, religious and cultural diversity, core belief, congregational consensus building, and workplace ethics.
Barbara is mediation and conflict resolution consultant offering services to individuals, families, businesses, agencies, organizations, schools and churches. She provides services in pastoral assistance, workshop presentations, conflict resolution training, custody evaluations, and foster/adoptive services. She is the author of the Power Point Training Presentation: Parenting the ADD/ADHD Child: A Focus on Foster-Adoption.
