About Gary
Gary A. Weissman is/was:
- an attorney with over 30 years experience;
- an ADR Neutral (mediator, arbitrator, Consultant);
- a trainer (I train mediators and arbitrators);
- an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law (where I taught ADR) for 15 years;
- a columnist for a magazine: The Hennepin Lawyer (for 25 years).
Before I practiced law, I spent time:
- administering community action programs (for the Office of Economic Opportunity) in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands;
- as a newspaper editor (The Hill and Lake Press);
- an assistant to a Mayor (Trenton, New Jersey);
- as a doctoral candidate in African and Latin American history (University of Wisconsin).
- as an official of the U.S. Dept. of Labor administering programs for ex-offenders.
On a personal note, I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, have lived in the Twin Cities since 1977, and am married and have six grown daughters.
