Irene WarshauerIrene C. Warshauer is an Attorney, Mediator and Arbitrator.  Irene mediates and arbitrates commercial business disputes, contracts, securities, employment, real estate, partnerships, franchise and product liability matters, privately and as a member of various panel.  Irene has mediated more than 100 matters.

Representative Cases Handled as a Mediator: Served as a mediator in commercial claims involving nationally known corporations, large investment bankers, EEOC and other employment claims, securities disputes and customer claims, real estate, franchise issues, general commercial, including breach of contract, tort cases, including the death of a baby.

 

Representative Cases Handled as an Arbitrator:  Commercial, securities and employment arbitrations, including many complex and multiparty disputes.  Commercial arbitrations have included warrant agreements, commissions, breach of golden parachute agreement, general commercial and break of contract claims.  Securities arbitration claims including churning, failure to supervise, and breach of customer agreements.

Irene's Law Practice as a Civil Litigator:  Included specialization in commercial litigation, insurance, securities, antitrust, contracts and health care.  Experience includes complex civil litigation, class actions, representation of corporate policyholders in insurance coverage litigation, serving as national counsel for a products liability defendant directing and coordinating more than 35 local counsel in over 100,000 cases.

 

Teaching and Facilitation: Irene taught Arbitration/Mediation at the International Development Law Institute (IDLI) Development Lawyers Course in Rome, March 9-13, 1998, Lectured at Columbia Law Schools third year law students Legal Ethics courses, facilitated mediation training for the New York Supreme Court mediation training courses, facilitated training for the U. S. Bankruptcy Court/NASD Mediation training programs, facilitated mediation training at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

 

Bar Associations and Related Activities: Association of the Bar of the City of New York,  service on the Judiciary Committee, the ADR Committee and the Arbitration Committee; New York State Bar Association, ADR Committee; member of CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution; recipient of CPR Significant Practical Achievement Award, 1983. Editorial Board of Alternatives Newsletter.  Demonstrates representation of a party in a mediation in a videotape “Mediation in Action Resolving a Complex Business Dispute.” (Spring 1994), which is used extensively by corporations, governmental agencies and at law schools.
