Paul H. Schofield

PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Paul Schofield has practiced law for over thirty years. He is licensed in the states of Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Master of Arts in clinical psychology, and a Juris Doctor degree. Prior to commencing his legal career he served as associate dean of students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). In 1973 he was appointed city attorney for the city of North Las Vegas, Nevada.

Paul's first 20 years of legal work included extensive litigation in areas such as eminent domain, construction defect law and family law.  He holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He is a former president of the Clark County Bar Association, and has been awarded the status of ATLA Stalwart by the American Trial Lawyers Association.

ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION COURSEWORK AND EDUCATION 

Since 2001, Mr. Schofield has acquired more than 100 hours of advanced mediation settlement insight and training at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University School of Law.  This training has included the courses of Mediating the Litigated Case as well as Advanced Issues In Family and Divorce Mediation and Advanced Family Mediation Skills.  

Paul is a Nevada Supreme Court Settlement Judge and is certified as a district court mediator and arbitrator.  While his primary professional concentration is that of a mediator in civil case matters and all phases of family law, he also conducts arbitrations and is available to serve as a special master.
