Emotional Intelligence for Neutrals

In this interactive session, participants will consider their role as neutrals, mediators and 3rd parties, and their responsibility to address emotional expression. Participants will discuss the critical importance of Emotional Intelligence for increased effectiveness of conflict and dispute resolution practitioners. What happens when 3rd parties are more effective at addressing and managing their own conflicts?

In interactive exercises, participants will identify specific skills they can develop to improve their own Emotional Intelligence. Participants will consider the impact of their own Emotional Intelligence on parties and their effectiveness.  Participants will discuss strategies for recognizing, respecting and appreciating their own and parties’ emotional expression. Through interactive practice exercises, participants will develop skills to improve their own Emotional Intelligence and their competency in addressing others’ emotions in conflict resolution processes. One or two-day sessions.
