Late wife, Dr. Mary Bremer Campbell Barron, taught in the Social Work Department at Michigan State University. She taught, among other things, mediation.
Son, Alexander, holds a doctoral degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University, and has taught Biology and Chemistry at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. He is currently working as a science advisor for the United States House of Representatives Energy & Commerce Committee, chaired by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA).
Daughter, Kristin, is a graduate of Kansas City Art Institute, NYU & Pratt Institute of Design, living and working in New York City as a freelance commercial designer.
Step-daughter, Brianna, is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, and employed in the field of social work near Grand Rapids.
Personal interests include: road cycling, Nordic skiing, travel, cooking, promoting peace and expanding my knowledge of myself and the world.
The courts of this country should not be the places where resolution of disputes begins. They should be the places where the disputes end after alternate methods of resolving disputes have been considered and tried.
