Jim McKanna's civil litigation experience exceeds thirty years handling complex personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, premises liability, government tort liability, construction defect, insurance, toxic torts, fraud, real estate, professional liability as well as commercial and contract matters.  Jim acted as nationwide counsel for Honda regarding all terrain vehicle claims.

Jim has been active in the ADR arena for several years and has handled hundreds of mediations and arbitrations.

Jim has been active as a trained for the Los Angeles Superior Court ADR program and as a seminar speaker for the Southern California Mediation Association.  He arbitrates for the State Contractors Licensing Board.  He is on the Superior Court Dispute Resolution panels for several Southern California counties.

He graduated cum lade from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1972 and received his JD from Southwestern University School of Law in 1976.

Jim is a member of the Southern California Mediation Association.  He also serves on the ADR panel of the Los Angeles Superior Court as well as the Riverside and San Bernardino Superior Courts.  Jim is also a panelist on the ADR panel for the Orange County Superior Court. 

In his spare time, Jim enjoys bicycling, traveling and being involved with the UCLA scholarship commitee.
