Academy of Family Mediators


Academy of Family Mediators (AFM) was established in 1981 as a non-profit educational membership association and is the largest family mediation organization in existence. Our members are mediators working in a variety of settings including private practice, courts, schools, and government in the United States and Internationally.

AFM/SPIDR Propose Eleven Guiding UMA Principles
 The Academy of Family Mediators and Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution have jointly endorsed eleven principles to review the current draft of the UMA. These principles and their review are presented to the Chair of the Uniform Mediation Act Committee in a letter.

OLD: AFM - AFCC Standards of Practice for Divorce and Family Mediation (1984)
