Articles:This briefing paper will discuss past examples of dispute resolution mechanisms in the Middle East, demonstrating how accumulated experiences in the region already provide useful tools for the international community in helping resolve this conflict. Five different roles for a third party in situations of conflict will be examined and examples of their application in the region will be provided. The relevance of these roles for use in the present context will then be discussed, and the political obstacles to their implementation considered. 3 Comments |
