Lou Gieszl

Lou Gieszl is the current President of the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) and Deputy Executive Director of the Maryland Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO). He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore’s Master’s Degree Program on Negotiation and Conflict Management. A skillful mediator, facilitator, trainer, and conflict consultant, Lou is active in mediation at the national and local level. Lou serves on the Board of Directors of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the leading organization for all conflict resolution practitioners, and the Board of Directors of the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation, the nation’s premiere center for expertise on mediation in the transformative framework. Lou has served as a volunteer mediator and facilitator at the community, government and court levels in Maryland. Lou holds bachelors degrees in English, Philosophy, and Political Science, and a Masters of Public Policy degree, from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Lou lives in Baltimore City with his wife Adrienne, their daughter Celia Rose, and her baby brother Lou Forrest.

Mediation Field Mourns Loss of Nancy Gardner (10/08/10)
The mediation field mourns the loss of Nancy Gardner, a long-time family mediator and member of the ACR Board of Directors. After a long struggle with cancer, Nancy passed away at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
