COMMUNITY MEDIATION INTEREST GROUP (CMIG)
So, you've completed basic mediation training and you're raring to go. Your local community mediation center most likely has mediation opportunities for you, along with an assortment of newsletters, training sessions and social gatherings for volunteer mediators.
Are you wondering about the big picture,and how you can be involved at a statewide level? CMIG may be just what you want.
CMIG stands for Community Mediation Interest Group. It is a collaborative effort of the Alliance for Community Mediation and the Oregon Mediation Association (OMA) to provide support to volunteer mediators in Oregon. CMIG is open to community mediators from across Oregon, regardless of OMA membership status.

Reduced OMA Membership Fee Volunteer mediators can join OMA for $35, instead of the regular $85 membership fee.
Reduced Registration Rates for OMA Members
All OMA members enjoy reduced registration rates for OMA's Annual Conference and other OMA-sponsored training events. Some events have additional discounts for Volunteer Mediators.
OMA-CMIG listserve
The CMIG Listserve is an excellent resource for posting questions, and ideas and for soliciting others' opinions. It is used by CMIG members to further their skills and knowledge of mediation and to share experiences.
The Volunteer View
The Volunteer View column in OMA's aurterly Newsletter focuses on issues of interest to Volunteer Mediators.
Regional Training Opportunities
Sharpen your skills and meet other Volunteer Mediators without traveling very far or spending very much money. . CMIG, with the help of ODRC and OMA, has provided free trainings throughout Oregon.
