As part of its mission to promote the development of mediation, OMA acknowledges the importance of quality programs of instruction for mediators. The growing demand has led to an increase in training offerings that address subject matter from basic mediation principles to specific applications (e.g., divorce & family, civil) as well as related topics such as negotiation and ethical issues for mediators.
When considering instruction be sure to inquire about details concerning matters such as prerequisites and approval of curricula and requirements that may be instituted by local courts.
