Mediation is a process in which the mediator assists the parties in reaching a mutually acceptable agreement.  In divorce mediation, the areas of custody (parenting plans), child support, spousal support, and a division of assets and debts can be discussed.  The mediator can prepare the Marital Settlement Agreement and the necessary documents to be filed with the court (upon the parties' request) and no court appearance is usually necessary.

Terry Anne Buchanan became the Director at the Mediation Center for Family Law (now known as the Family Law Mediation Center) in July, 2007.  She is an experienced family law attorney and a graduate of Pepperdine's distinguished Institute for Dispute Resolution where she received her certificate in conflict resolution.  She has been a mediator for approximately ten years and was with the Mediation Center for over a year before becoming the Director.  Nina Meierding, the Director and Senior Mediator fromn 1985-2007 moved to the the Northwest and is no longer taking new cases.  Nina mediated over 4,000 disputes in her tenure with the Center

Terry Anne utilizes a  problem-solving approach which focuses on reaching a client centered, informed, and durable agreement.
