Description of Practice
I have broad experience in family law, elder law, estate planning, probate, and corporate law. I create a safe environment in which participants discuss their differences in a rational and confidential manner. I believe disputants should be knowledgeable about their rights and responsibilities. I can provide legal information when desired.
I graduated from Stanford Law School in 1979. I am a named partner in Wyse Kadish LLP, a 12 lawyer, AV rated law firm. I have taught mediation and negotiation as an adjunct professor at Lewis and Clark Law School for over 20 years. I frequently lecture and write on topics in mediation, negotiation, and family law. I am named as an Oregon Superlawyer, and as one of Portland's best lawyers and a Five Star Wealth Planner (top 4% of estate planning lawyers) by Portland Magazine.
Mediation has been a major part of my practice for over 20 years. I have mediated well over 1500 cases. I also have represented many clients in mediation, so I understand the process from a participant's point of view. I was the winner of the Oregon Mediation Association Award for Excellence in 2000, and the Oregon State Bar Lezak Award for Excellence in Mediation in 2011.
BA Haverford College '73; JD Stanford Law School '79.
I create a safe environment in which participants can discuss their differences in a rational and confidential manner. I believe disputants should be knowledgeable about their rights and responsibilities, and I can provide legal information for the participants when desired.
I work on a sliding scale basis. My top rate is $300 per hour, but I regularly reduce fees in order to make my services affordable for a broad range of clients.
I am particularly interested in mediation of divorces involving closely held businesses or other complex financial assets, prenuptial agreements, will contests, disputes among shareholders in closely held corporations, and family business disputes.
