Meeting and Team Facilitation

When team communication is strained,

When team members are unclear about how decisions are made,

When team members are afraid to ask questions,

When ideas are supported or opposed because of personality and not merit,

It doesn’t feel easy.

To facilitate means to make easier.

There are two ways that I make things easier for teams or groups:

1. Meeting Facilitation:

I facilitate your important meetings so that you can  be productive:

*Clarify your group vision and mission,
*Identify the barriers to your growth,
*Discuss strategy,
*Set priorities,
*Make key decisions.

2. Team Facilitation

I facilitate the team development process, by:

*Opening lines of communication so that emotional baggage is dealt with,

*Clarifying how decisions are made (consensus, vote, leader, etc)

*Clarifying roles, individual and group responsibilities,

*Establishing acceptable group norms for communication and behavior,

*Using an agenda that defines who, addresses what, how, and for how long,

*Creating accountability through use of an action planning matrix that defines who, does what, when.

"John was instrumental in helping us address a deep rift between two of our teams that needed to work together. He was able to gain the trust of some difficult personalities and worked with the teams both individually and collectively to gain commitments on how they would cooperate."

Rich Cortes
Business Services Manager
Union Sanitary District

“John is one of the most effective mediators I have worked with.  He has a way of gaining the trust of the parties in a mediation setting and has a calming effect in even the most contentious of situations.  He handles issues relating to diversity with skill and sensitivity.  His ethics are above reproach, and his understanding of human nature is extraordinary.  I always think of him first when I need a mediator.”
