james greenwood III         Jim Greenwood likes to help settle cases.  He is not a “pushy” or “brow beating” type of mediator. He is conscientious, respectful, attentive, persistent, insistent and a hard worker.  He doesn’t quit trying to find a way to “get it done” just because the hour is late, the feelings are strong, or the issues are challenging.

Jim’s high school yearbook had a quote by his name:  “Be there a will and wisdom finds the way.” He doesn’t claim any "special" wisdom but his years of law practice, professional and community service, along with hundreds of hours of training, over 600 mediations, over 50 years of marriage and as a parent (yes, over 50!), have given him a talent for listening (and hearing).   He is stubborn, resourceful, and always looking for new "possibilities" that many times have helped parties find the way to resolve what seemed to be irresolvable conflicts (See accompanying article).

In all mediations Jim Greenwood commits to the parties and their counsel that he will: (1) treat them with respect; (2) conduct the mediation with respect for the process; (3) prepare; (4) listen; (5) learn; (6) ask questions; (7) help find answers; (8) keep working; (9) maintain confidentiality before, during and after the mediation; and (10) charge a fair and reasonable fee.
