What is mediation? Why mediate? Articles About Mediation
What is Mediation?
Mediation is a voluntary process in which a neutral third party facilitates communication between people in dispute with the aim of helping them to reach a mutually acceptable agreement.
Mediation is an informal process that can be tailored to meet specific needs.

Why mediate?
- You have an opportunity to address all the issues and resolve your dispute in a mutually satisfactory manner.
- You maintain control over the outcome of the dispute-no one makes decisions for you.
- You save time and money (especially when compared to litigation).
- You maintain privacy, and communications are confidential.
- You retain the right to withdraw from mediation at any time and to litigate.
- You can preserve and enhance current relationships while establishing clear guidelines for the future.
