Mediation Fee ScheduleTravel Time: There is no charge for travel to Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange Counties. The fee for travel time outside of these three counties is 50% of the regular hourly fee.
Mediator/Arbitrator Fees are usually charged by the half-day (up to 5 hours including preparation time) or whole day (up to 10 hours including preparation time). Payment Policy: Parties must deposit fees for the estimated number of hours multiplied by the applicable rate, no later than two weeks prior to the mediation session or ad hoc arbitration hearing to reserve the date. An additional fee deposit may be required in the event the parties need multiple sessions. Such a deposit needs to be made before the start of each additional session.
Fees are charged for preparation (review of mediation statements, records, arbitration briefs, research) and the mediation or arbitration proceeding. Payment on Statements for Services is due upon receipt.
Cancellation, Continuance, Refund Policy: We recognize that an unexpected event may occur that requires a mediation session or arbitration hearing to be continued. We trust that you will understand that your session reservation gives your time slot exclusively to you. If a mediation session or arbitration hearing scheduled for one-half (1/2) day is continued or cancelled no less than seven (7) days prior to the reserved date, the fee is fully refundable. If a session scheduled for longer than one-half (1/2) day is continued or cancelled no less than fourteen (14) days prior to the reserved date, the fees are fully refundable. Cancellations made closer to the reserved date are non-refundable, unless that time can be filled with other billable work. Any refund amount will be paid within ten (10) days.
