Janice S. Countess MA, APM

Executive Director of Peer Mediation Programs, a subsidiary of Countess, Kingett & Associates Mediation Services LLC

Janice Countess is not only the president Emeritus and Executive Director of Peer mediation programs but has worked in over a hundred schools as a peer mediator coordinator, consultant, and instructor. Ms. Countess holds advanced degrees and certifications in Education, Psychology, and Conflict Resolution and has trained more than 6,000 individuals from numerous states in several areas of Conflict Management including successful methods on Bullying Prevention. She has introduced peer mediation to over 60,000 individuals through assembly programs she designed and worked with Congressman Rob Andrews D_NJ for several years assisting in the language for bill HR 2 which the House passed on October 21, 1999 and HR 1 which provides funding for peer mediation and other conflict resolution programs. The final version of the bill, “Safe and Drug-Free Schools” program (Title IV) passed in Congress and Senate in Washington, DC in 2003.

In addition to having taught in public school for Grades K-12, she is a professional mediator and is listed with the AOC (Administrative Office of the Courts) as an approved mediator for the State of New Jersey. She is a member in good standing of numerous distinguished organizations ,and is listed as a Level III National Trainer. She is also an accredited practitioner with the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators. Ms. Countess is registered with the New Jersey Department of Education as a Professional Provider #2136 for continuing education credits.

In addition to her many television appearances, Ms. Countess has gained recognition as a guest speaker at Princeton, Rutgers, Rowan and other leading universities.
