A Proven Track Record
PMP is unique in its approach and has a proven record of successful programs. PMP is a professional organization that specializes in mediation. All of the programs are conducted by educators with a mediation background. Over 100 schools and 6,000 students throughout New Jersey and Delaware have used PMP services and our references include such varied school districts as Deptford, New Castle, Northern Valley Regional, Monmouth Regional, Atlantic Highlands, Haddonfield, Williamstown, Collingswood, Camden and Academy Charter. In addition, we offer student conflict resolution training on the college level as well for those undergraduates serving as Resident Assistants. Universities and colleges who house pupils on campus have benefited greatly from having their Resident Assistants equipped with the necessary conflict management skills to help their colleagues resolve disputes before they escalate to violence or court action.
The Cost
Due to travel and varying levels of complexity for each individual peer mediation program implemented, the cost for each school can vary upon the school's needs and also the distance necessary for the trainers to travel. Start up fees for a program can range from $600. to $750. for a two hour in-service. Training fees for faculty (16 to 24 participants)can range from $1900. for a one day training to $3300. for a two day seminar. Student training (24 participants) which is generally two to three days can range in price from $3300. to $3900. depending on the number of training days and the level (re-training, beginning, advanced) of the instruction. The location of the training is usually at the school where the students attend and begins around 8:00 AM until 3:30 PM; however, the time is flexible for your convenience. Peer Mediation Coordinator Workshop
This interactive 2-Day training for educators, K-12, is perfect for any school or school district interested in implementing a Peer Mediation Program for their students. This very successful program not only reduces conflicts, including bullying incidents ; but also creates an environment conducive to learning academic and life skills.
Our team of Professional Trainers will come to your school and work enthusiastically with teachers, counselors, administrators and other interested individuals who are committed to improving the tone and climate of the educational surroundings.
The training covers: * The mediation process as it applies in the School Setting * Communication/Listening skills with the focus on giving participants the know-how to include in training for Peer Mediators at all levels * Techniques & Practical applications in Role-Play Sessions * Developing a checklist for Implementation * Promoting the Concept to School/Community * Nominations/Selection Procedures * Scheduling and Evaluation Techniques * Building On-Going Support for Students/Staff *** 16 Continuing education credits through the New Jersey Department of Education will be given to all participants at the close of the session as well as certificates.
The Cost For The Two Day Seminar
The fee for this two day seminar which includes all materials, continuing NJ education credits, and certificates is $3,300. for up to 24 dedicated teachers, coaches, administrators, PTA representatives, teacher aids and other significant adults who interact with the students. This workshop is conducted at the school hosting the event. It is to the advantage of the school district to encourage several educators from each school in the district to participate in the training which fosters enthusiasm among the teachers and community.
